The Lives of Others arrives at the Adelphi Theatre in a strictly limited run from 14 October 2026, bringing a powerful new stage adaptation of the Oscar-winning story to London.

Starring Academy Award nominee Keira Knightley (Black Doves, Atonement, The Misanthrope), Emmy Award winner Stephen Dillane (Game of Thrones, The Tunnel, Vigil) and Olivier Award nominee Luke Thompson (Bridgerton, Dunkirk, Oresteia), this production explores surveillance, censorship and the hidden cost of watching others.

Expect a gripping, atmospheric drama that blurs the line between observer and subject, as a Stasi officer monitors a writer and actor in 1984 East Germany. What begins as surveillance becomes something far more unsettling, as the watcher’s life is quietly changed by what he hears.
