This summer, Death Note: The Musical arrives at the Barbican for its highly anticipated world premiere, running for a strictly limited season from 30 July to 12 September.
Based on the global manga phenomenon by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, which has sold over 30 million copies worldwide, the story follows brilliant student Light Yagami, who discovers a notebook with the power to determine who lives and who dies. As his attempt to reshape society intensifies, he draws the attention of the enigmatic detective L, setting the stage for a gripping battle of intellect, justice, and morality.
Reimagined for the London stage in collaboration with original Japanese producers HoriPro, this new production features a powerful score by Tony, Grammy and Emmy nominee Frank Wildhorn, with lyrics by Jack Murphy and a book by Ivan Menchell.
With its high-stakes storytelling and striking theatrical style, Death Note: The Musical is set to be one of the standout productions of the season.
