  • For safety reasons, wheelchair spaces are limited. As the original ship structure restricts the size of the lift on board, mobility scooters cannot be accommodated on board. Lifts offer access to all other areas of the ship, including the main deck as well as the Gallery beneath the ship
  • Disabled Access: Most areas of the Observatory are fully accessible; however, older buildings have restricted access
  • Access to certain spaces and interactive exhibits may be restricted

To reach the Royal Observatory:

By car: If you’re heading to your destination via A2, start by heading west on Shooters Hill Rd/A2 toward Kidbrooke Park Rd/A2213. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and continue driving on Shooters Hill Rd/A2. Turning right onto Charlton Way/B210, then left onto Blackheath Ave, you’ll pass through one roundabout. Your destination, Royal Observatory Greenwich, will be on the left. GPS navigation is highly advised.


By public transportation: You can easily reach your destination by taking bus 286 to Trafalgar Estate (Stop T), followed by a 13-minute walk. Alternatively, you can take bus 386 to John Roan School (Stop G) and enjoy a 15-minute walk to your destination.


By taxi: You can easily reach your destination by taking a taxi or a ride-hailing app. 

To reach Cutty Sark:

By car: There are many ways to reach your destination, including heading southwest on Trafalgar Rd/A206, merging onto Greenwich Church St, and turning left onto College Approach to arrive at Cutty Sark. GPS navigation is highly advised.

 

By public transportation: You can reach your destination by taking the DLR (Lewisham direction) to Cutty Sark and taking a two-minute walk. 

 

By taxi: You can easily reach your destination by taking a taxi or a ride-hailing app.
