Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Lionel Bart’s iconic musical, Oliver!, which he has fully reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne, is open!

The cast includes Simon Lipkin (Guys and Dolls, Avenue Q) as Fagin, Shanay Holmes (Miss Saigon, The Bodyguard) as Nancy, Aaron Sidwell (Henry VI, Wicked) as Bill Sikes, Billy Jenkins (Les Misérables, BBC’s Dodger) as the Artful Dodger and Philip Franks (The Rocky Horror Show, Witness for the Prosecution) as Mr Brownlow.

Produced and revised by Cameron Mackintosh, Oliver! is directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne and co-directed by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy. Designed by Lez Brotherston, lighting is by Paule Constable and Ben Jacobs, sound design by Adam Fisher, video design by George Reeve, original orchestrations by William David Brohn adapted by Stephen Metcalfe; music supervision is by Graham Hurman.

With a sensational score, including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah, As Long As He Needs Me and many more, the Olivier, Tony and Oscar-winning masterpiece vividly brings to life Dickens’ ever-popular story of the boy who asked for more.

By Tube (London Underground): This is the most efficient way to travel.
- Nearest Station: Piccadilly Circus (a 2-3 minute walk)
- Tube Lines: Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines.
- Directions from Piccadilly Circus: Exit the station and turn left up Great Windmill Street. Take the first right onto Shaftesbury Avenue, and the theatre will be on your left.
- Alternative Station: Leicester Square (a 5-minute walk)
- Tube Lines: Northern and Piccadilly lines.
By Bus: Numerous bus routes stop near the theatre.

By Train (National Rail)

Nearest Train Station:Charing Cross Station
- Walking Distance: It is approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the theatre.
- Directions from Charing Cross: Head up St Martin's Place towards Charing Cross Road. When you reach Shaftesbury Avenue, turn left, and the Gielgud Theatre will be on your right-hand side.

By Car

Driving in this area of London can be challenging due to traffic and limited parking.

Congestion Charge: The Gielgud Theatre is located within the London Congestion Charging Zone. This charge applies on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Driving to the theatre for an evening performance after 6:00 PM means you will not have to pay the charge.
Parking: The theatre does not have its own car park. However, there are several nearby options:
- Q-Park Theatreland Parking Scheme: The Gielgud Theatre is part of this scheme, which offers a 50% discount on parking. The nearest participating car park is the 24-hour Q-Park Chinatown located at 20 Newport Place, WC2H 7PR. You must get your parking ticket validated at the theatre to receive the discount.
- Other Nearby Car Parks: NCP car parks are available on Lexington Street and Brewer Street.
